     Jokipiin Pellava Oy
Company and expertise Jokipiin Pellava Oy is a family company founded in 1920. Until 1989 the company was known by the name "Jokipiin Villa- ja Pellavakehräämö Oy". We are specialized in weaving and sewing linen textiles for interior and bath&sauna. Ours expertise is jacquard weaving, logo weaving, machine embroidery, linen terry and ecological textiles.
90 years of history We celebrate our 90th jublilee of Laurila Family entrepreneurship during 2010, mainly working. Along the year there will be different types of theme day arranged at the factory shop for the clients: e.g. Shrove Tuesday with "long linens", Open House in the spring etc.
Product collection We are using exclusively linen and cotton/linen to produce bath robes, kilts, wash mittens and sauna seat covers as well as kitchen towels, aprons, table cloths, table mats and runners. Also special items like hospital textiles and industrial towels are part of our collection.
Staff and clients We employ about 20 persons, most of whom are women, and our turn-over is appr. 1.7 M euros. We serve retail and wholesale companies, corporations that procure our products as business gifts and public utilities, hospitals, health-care organisations, washing companies etc. Our strength is focusing on linen, flexibility, customized products and ability to deliver on a very short notice.
Export We export linen textiles also to Sweden, Norway, Germany, USA and Japan.
Yarn - our raw material The raw material that we use is linen yarn that was been grown and refined in Western Europe (Italy, Germany, France). Unfortunate the linen farming that re-started in Finland in the 90's has faded away again.
Third generation We pride ourselves in having the third generation actively involved in the business. The focus is on linen, its weaving and sewing into finished products and we actively explore new ways to use linen.
